After you know WHAT to teach in social studies (chapter 2), you have to think about HOW to teach the content in social studies (chapter 3).
Unfortunately, there is no ONE methods that works in all cases. Some methods may be more effective at different times, depending on the teacher, the students, and the environment.
You need to have a variety of strategies in your "tool box" to meet the varying needs of your students. As the teacher, you need to be able to provide excellent experiences that use and extend all the different ways your students learn.
